Matt Johnson Foundation

Have you ever met someone who is so passionate about something that when you are around them you can’t help but be passionate about that too?  Well that was the case with Matt Johnson and his love of music!  The Matt Johnson Foundation is a scholarship given to students who exemplify the kind of person Matt was and demonstrate a love and passion for music!   

For Katie Earnhardt, one of the founders of the foundation and cousin of Matt, she remembers Matt as her best friend, her protector and someone she looked up to. Matt was so passionate about music and sharing that passion with others, especially kids.  “On September 1st, 2016 we lost Matt. Although we were devastated by this loss, we knew that he would have wanted us to keep his legacy alive by continuing to encourage the next generation to pursue their love for music. If Matt were here, he would encourage you to chase your dreams no matter how crazy they might seem and make sure you are helping everyone along your way.”  The scholarships are completely funded by fundraisers that are held throughout the year and will continue to help students pursue their love for music.
